v1.1.11 · 14 August 2026

• Picking a text preset in Settings no longer resets your image threshold. If you had set images to Always, choosing Recommended used to quietly put it back to 256 KB, and nothing told you it had happened. File and video thresholds were never touched by the preset; images now behave the same way.
• A clip that falls below its size threshold now says so. It used to be dropped in silence, which is easy to miss with text but not with an image: pasting a raw image into a terminal inserts nothing at all, so the path from the previous clip simply stayed on screen and it looked like the app had stopped working.

v1.1.10 · 7 August 2026

• CtxVault now runs in full for 48 hours after you first launch it. No key, no account, no sign-up: download it and use it. When the two days are up, the app locks exactly the way an unlicensed copy does today, and a license always takes precedence over the trial.
• The time you have left is visible: in the menu bar under today's clip count, and in Settings under License. Once the trial ends, both say so plainly instead of leaving you guessing why things stopped working.
• Buy CtxVault is reachable while the trial is still running. It used to appear only once the app had already locked itself, which is exactly the wrong moment to go looking for it.
• The preview of the slim card in Settings now measures itself the way the real window does, so what you see in the preview is the width you get.

• When the vault folder can't be read, whether that is an unmounted drive or a folder you moved away, the app now says so instead of showing an empty collection. An empty vault and an unreachable one used to look identical.
• A write error no longer sticks around after it's over. Once writing works again, the warning clears itself, and the note about skipped clips disappears with it.
• Settings has an Export Error Log button. It writes your app version, device, settings and a recent log excerpt to a file you can send along with a problem report. It never contains clipboard content, and never the content of an offloaded file.
• Re-copying a very large non-text clip now puts the path on your clipboard instead of loading the whole file into memory. Text clips are unaffected and still come back in full.
• Deleting an entry no longer follows a symbolic link out of the vault, so a link placed in the vault folder can't get a file elsewhere on your Mac deleted.
• Show in Finder checks the path before opening it and refuses anything that doesn't point into the vault.
• The card in Collect Mode stays a card. It no longer stretches into a full-width strip on a wide screen.
• In Collect Mode, the summary in the panel header now measures itself against the space beside the notch rather than the full panel width, so it stops running behind the notch on a narrow panel.
• Long status lines in the panel header shorten themselves when the space beside the notch gets tight, instead of being cut off mid-word.
• The collect bar under the notch got its spacing and buttons reworked, and the collect card explains what collecting does.
• The preview in Settings now draws the notch itself, so you can see what sits behind it before you change a size. Its height follows your actual screen instead of a fixed guess, and the asymmetry offset finally leans the right way.
• The path template warning in Settings names the condition that actually triggered it.
• The blue action button scales with both interface densities.

• Sizes are set in steps now, not in pixels. Card height, panel width and panel height each run on a fixed ladder, so a setting reads "step 6" instead of "132 points": a number you can remember and repeat on another Mac. The stored value stays exact, and screen readers still announce the real measurement.
• The mini panel is set in visible lines, one to six. You choose how many entries it shows before it starts scrolling, the height in steps stays alongside it as the upper limit, and each of the two says what it does. This setting existed inside the app but had no control and was never saved, so it silently sat at three.

• Collect Mode now gathers a whole session into one folder. Start it, copy as much as you like, and everything lands in a dated folder inside the vault instead of scattering across it. Ending the session puts a single path on the clipboard, the folder itself, rather than a list of twenty lines, and hands the folder over so anything that accepts files gets all of it at once.
• Every collect folder carries a README that explains, in plain English, what the folder is and what each file was. The vault root has one too, written on first launch and never overwritten, so an AI agent reading your vault knows what it is looking at.
• The collect bar has a visible End button, and the offload card now unfolds below the bar instead of covering it, so the counter stays in view while you keep copying.
• You can choose whether Collect Mode gathers everything or only what crosses your offload threshold. Everything is the default.
• The card height acts as an upper limit that the card grows into rather than a fixed frame, so a short clip no longer leaves dead space below it. The mini panel's status line sits beside the notch instead of below it.
• Every shortcut is freely assignable, including the ones for the notch card and Collect Mode, with a collision check against the app's own shortcuts and the common system ones. A combination without a modifier key is refused, since a single letter would otherwise be swallowed system-wide. The menu bar shows the shortcuts you actually set.
• Detected credentials are now deleted after 30 minutes instead of 15.
• If the Mac restarts before something was due to be deleted, the app checks on launch: files that are still there get a fresh deadline counted from launch, and anything recognised as a credential that would have expired during the downtime is deleted immediately.
• Buttons and copy actions give visible feedback, and the settings rows line up on a shared right edge.
• Shortcuts are shown the way macOS shows them, as ⌃⌥⌘N rather than spelled out, in the menu bar and in Settings. Screen readers still hear the full wording.
• Every shortcut row in Settings now says what the function actually does, not just that it is a global shortcut, and the Change buttons line up.
• The menu bar entries for the mini panel and Collect Mode are translated in all six languages, so no English line appears in a German window.

• Secrets Mode: switch it on from the menu bar or with ⌃⌥⌘S, and for the next 30 seconds every clipboard entry is treated as a secret: kept out of the history, written only to a temporary file, and securely overwritten when it goes. The remaining time is visible in the menu bar; clicking it again ends the mode early.
• Secure delete is now unconditional for secrets: previously, files above 16 MiB were removed without being overwritten first. Secret files are now always overwritten, whatever their size.
• Your license key stays reachable: it's shown and copyable in Settings after activation, so moving to a new Mac doesn't mean digging through old emails.
• The lifetime counter (offloads and tokens saved) now survives a reinstall instead of silently starting from zero.
• The content font size setting now also applies to the notch card's title, counter, and path lines, and the card height follows the font size instead of clipping text.
• The license entry disappears from the menu bar once the app is activated.
• New installations get "Funk" as the default offload sound; existing installations keep the sound they have.

• Offload presets: pick from three ready-made offload thresholds in the setup wizard or in Settings, with a calculator that estimates the token savings upfront. The default offload threshold has changed. Existing custom values are left untouched. Anyone who wants the new default picks it actively in the wizard or in Settings.
• Fullscreen behavior: the notch card can now either always stay visible (new default for fresh installs) or, as before, only appear on the current screen, configurable under Appearance. Existing installations keep the previous behavior and need to switch the option themselves.
• Secure delete hardened: entries marked as secrets are now verified to be overwritten before their record is removed. In rare edge cases (e.g. a read-only or locked file) the app could previously drop the entry from its list without the content actually being destroyed on disk; a failed overwrite is now reported as a failure and the entry is kept.
• Images are now also auto-offloaded when the accompanying text stays under the threshold.
• Media type at a glance: color-coded badges for image, file, video, and language in the card, panel, history, and menu bar, plus correct counts like "1 image" instead of "0 lines".
• Target apps for auto-paste extended to AI desktop apps (Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, Cursor). Previously this only worked in terminals.
• The target apps list in Settings now shows enabled apps at the top, even if they're not currently installed.
• Notification added for "Keep original" (undoing an offload), matching the existing notification for offloading itself.
• Offload thresholds for image, file, and video can now be set to "Always".
• File offload is now actively asked about in the setup wizard, instead of defaulting to off unnoticed.
• New preview button for the offload sound, a reset button per setting, and explanatory text under every setting.
• The pending-approval notice for Auto-start now also appears in Settings, not just in the setup wizard.
• Settings stay readable at very large system font sizes instead of clipping text.
• Settings page cleaned up visually: full-width sliders, clearer grouping per setting.
• New banner detects a license key on the clipboard and suggests activating it; activation itself stays manual.
• Secret detection now also covers additional GitHub token formats and PGP key blocks.
• Improved interaction with dictation tools and clipboard managers (e.g. Wispr Flow): offload and paste now work reliably together, instead of occasionally pasting the raw content.
• Failed deletes are now reported as failures instead of incorrectly as successful.
• Stuck offloads (e.g. a disconnected network drive) no longer block recording indefinitely.
• The notch card occasionally froze; clicking outside now reliably closes the offload card too.
• The auto-start toggle sometimes didn't show as checked even though activation had succeeded.
