Refunds & Right of Withdrawal
for the purchase of digital content (CtxVault license)
1. Your purchase contract is with Polar (Merchant of Record)
Every CtxVault license is sold by Polar as Merchant of Record: the purchase contract is concluded exclusively between you and Polar, in Polar's own name. lukas josef unternehmungen (the "Provider") is not the seller; the Provider is the licensor of the software and grants you the license once Polar has completed the sale. Withdrawal, refunds, and payment processing are therefore governed solely by Polar's terms: see Polar's Buyer Terms and Conditions for the applicable refund conditions, and Polar's legal pages for its full policy set. You also retain any chargeback rights provided by your card issuer.
2. EU right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from the
purchase contract with Polar within fourteen days without giving any reason. This period begins
on the day the purchase contract with Polar is concluded. Because Polar is
your contract partner for the purchase, this right is exercised towards Polar,
not towards the Provider, by a clear statement to Polar (for example by email to
support@polar.sh, postal address: see Section 5).
3. Early expiry of the right of withdrawal for digital content
Important notice: Your right of withdrawal expires early once performance of the contract has begun — i.e. once the license key / download has been made available to you — provided that you have:
- expressly consented to performance of the contract beginning before the withdrawal period has expired, and
- acknowledged that, by giving this consent, you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has started.
This consent and acknowledgment are obtained explicitly during checkout, before the purchase is completed (checkbox at Polar's checkout).
If you withdraw effectively before performance has begun, Polar refunds the payments it received from you without undue delay. If performance has already started with your consent as described above, the right of withdrawal has expired and no refund is owed on that basis.
4. Refunds outside the EU
Outside the EU, refund eligibility follows Polar's Buyer Terms and Conditions linked above rather than the EU withdrawal regime described in Section 2–3. Polar may deny a refund where it reasonably determines fraud, abuse, misuse, or non-compliance with the applicable refund policy.
5. The Provider's role, and who to contact
The Provider is the licensor of the software. The license scope (one device), your usage rights, and the warranty and liability for the software itself are set out in the Terms of Service. This does not affect your rights under the purchase contract with Polar.
Polar Software, Inc., 3500 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE, 19901, USA, is your contract partner for the purchase; see Section 1. A written withdrawal statement can be sent to that address, or, more practically, by email as described below.
For anything concerning your order, payment, invoice, withdrawal, or refund,
contact Polar as the seller: support@polar.sh. For questions or problems concerning
the software itself (license activation, features, technical support), contact
the Provider at hello@ctxvault.com.
